Sky House

Camden

The Sky House is a uniquely designed three-bedroom penthouse apartment, distinguished by its rooftop layout of two separate pavilions - one housing the living spaces, the other dedicated to relaxation areas including bedrooms.

Taking advantage of its positioning, the south-facing living areas harness solar gain and feature expansive views over the city and the Heathrow flight path. The northern section, where the bedrooms are located, offers brick terraces for a more enclosed and subdued atmosphere.

This penthouse is a genuine reflection of urban living – a comfortable place to rest under the sky amidst the city's hum. It's not simply a decorated box, but a home that invites relaxation and connection with the surroundings.

A thoughtful design element is the vibrant entrance lobby and study area, both illuminated by coloured skylights that provide an intriguing experience as one moves throughout the property.

The Sky House incorporates a cross ventilation strategy, coupled with rooflights in all rooms for sky gazing. This enhances not only the property's energy efficiency but also its connection with the natural environment. A testament to thoughtful, innovative design, the Sky House ensures comfort and function within an urban context.

Light / Glowing Rooms

Sky House is a testament to the effective use of natural light. The incorporation of rooflights in two key areas - the entrance and the home office - introduces a distinctive quality of light. These rooflights have an added layer of yellow pigment, which imbues these spaces with a subtle, warm glow. This clever design element punctuates the lighting experience throughout the home, creating a visually stunning transition from warm yellow to bright blue light.

Craft / Colour and Structure

At Sky House, the exposed structure is thoughtfully coloured to delineate the spaces and their light-filled volumes. The chosen tones are carefully considered to resonate with the views and surrounding vegetation, creating a harmonious blend with the exterior environment. This expertly crafted structure characterises the two large rooftop pavilions, which are further partitioned through the use of plywood screens and concealed doors. This approach to design ensures a seamless integration of spaces, offering both openness and privacy.
